Description

This 3-hour seminar is designed for mental health professionals seeking a deeper understanding of treatment-resistant depression (TRD) and the evolving role of intranasal esketamine (Spravato) withinmodern psychiatric practice.

Participants will explore the neurobiological foundations of major depressive disorder (MDD) and TRD, including disruptions in neuronal signaling, impaired synaptic plasticity, Default Mode Network (DMN) dysregulation, glutamatergic dysfunction, and stress-related neurotoxicity. The seminar will also review emerging theories regarding neuroplasticity and the role of maladaptive neural network activity in chronic depressive illness.
